California
San Diego- Nothing beats a firework show like the Big Bay Boom in San Diego which happens to be the largest firework show on the west coast. That means this firework show puts Disneyland to shame. The firework display can be seen across San Diego because the fireworks are shot from different points in the harbor. If you’re looking for a grand celebration then San Diego is the place to be. The San Diego RV Resort is a great place to stay and even has some killer tips on transportation methods/advice for the holiday.
San Francisco Fireworks- This firework display is known as one of the best because not only is the firework show amazing, but the backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge is a view you won’t want to miss. The fireworks shoot of of pier 39 but can be seen from around the city because they are so spectacular! There are three major RV parks around San Francisco where you can camp, if this show sounds like something you want to see! Candlestick Park, Treasure Island RV Park and San Francisco RV Resort are all great options for the long weekend.
South Lake Tahoe- Nothing says classic Summer season like a trip to the lake- Lake Tahoe. A road trip to Tahoe is perfect for a family not looking to travel too far, but also wanting to get away from home. Families love to get a cozy spot on the water or even take a boat out for a closer look at the beautiful fireworks show each year. There are a few RV parks around Lake Tahoe, but Zephyr Cove is one of the best because it has plenty of amenities to ensure a relaxing/enjoyable vacation.
Seattle
Seafair Summer Fourth- Hosted at Gas Works in downtown Seattle, the Seafair Summer Fourth is a great celebration to attend if you’re looking for an all-day event! Throughout the day there are plenty of food vendors, live music, games for the kids and even beer gardens for the adults! Locals and visitors like to spend the day celebrating at the festival, then watching the firework show over Lake Union in the evening! RV Campers have the choice of three RV parks in the Seattle area: Skyway, Halcyon and Lake Washington Beach Mobile Home Parks.
Texas
Kaboom Town- Although this show is nestled in Addison, Texas don’t let the small town fool you because this 4th of July celebration is grand. Food vendors, live music and entertainment are just the beginning of this large event. Attendees of the event aren’t just looking at the sky for the fireworks display at the end of the night because there is also a large air show during the day. Although there are no RV parks in Addison exactly, there are plenty of places to park your RV and camp in neighboring cities like Carrollton and Dallas.
Washington D.C.
National Mall Fourth of July Celebration- Looking for a big road trip? If you’ve got more than just a long weekend, try making the trek out to Washington D.C. for the 4th of July! Although it’s not exactly a simple trip, it’s one you certainly won’t regret. More than half a million visitors travel to Washington D.C. each 4th of July to watch one of the most patriotic firework shows in the country. Locals and visitors say the view of the fireworks with the Washington monument and U.S. Capitol in the background is one that can’t be beat! In terms of places to stay, Cherry Hill Park is the closest RV Park to the monument.
