Long-gone are the days when families play board games and typical car games on long road trips. Nowadays everyone’s gadgets have to be charged and phone’s loaded up with games or videos. However there are plenty of apps that can only only benefit your road trip endeavors, but also are fun to play as a whole family!
GasBuddy
Never be scrambling to find a gas station again! This app is great on any road trip, but especially beneficial for RV’s, as it’s always important to try and find the cheapest gas. GasBuddy will show you the nearest gas stations to you, and will allow you to compare the prices of each. You can also plan a trip on GasBuddy, so you’ll already have your gas stops planned out for the trip! GasBuddy will save you more money and time!
Heads Up
A great game to get the whole RV involved in, HeadsUp is a game created by Ellen Degeneres that can be played anywhere at anytime. Players must hold their phone above their heads while trying to guess the word on the card based off of other player’s clues. You can play in teams or with a few people. Heads Up can be a fun game beyond just the car ride- people also like to play while waiting in line at the amusement park and other long waits!
FunBlast Trivia
Does your family enjoy trivia? This game tests your knowledge of art, sports, entertainment, history, science and more! Some families enjoy putting their brains together and figuring out the answers with each other, while others think it’s more fun to compete against one another! Either way, the game is fun and everyone ends up learning something new as well! FunBlast Trivia is a great way to pass the time in the RV!
MadLibs
Forget the paper books, MadLibs, the app, will have the children giggling and the parents reminiscing a classic car game. Fill in the blanks with whatever noun, adjective, pronoun or verb you wish and then read the story through at the end for a laugh!
State Plate Bingo
This different take on a classic game will have everyone in the car staring out the windows with excitement the whole trip! The goal of the game is to find as many license plate tags from different states as possible throughout the duration of the trip! Some states are obviously trickier than others, but it’s a great way to keep everyone occupied during the road trip. Family members can either work together to collect as close to 50 as you can get, or everyone can compete against each other to see who can get the highest number of license plate tags before reaching your destination.
Along The Way
This fantastic app is helpful for all road trips, but especially RV road trips, because more often than not you end up in a new or unfamiliar area along the way to your ultimate destination. Along The Way, the app, is your ultimate tour guide if you’re in a town or city you’ve never been before. Along The Way has tips about great daytime activities, the best restaurants to eat at, fun nightlife and more! Along The Way makes it more comfortable to road trip, because you never feel like a tourist!
