Looking to have some RV adventures this summer? Here are a few RV must-haves.

Summer RV Trip Must-Have #1: Walkie Talkies

Have you ever been out in the middle of nowhere - maybe while hiking in the mountains or driving in the middle of the country - and couldn’t get any cell phone service?

Enter the walkie talkie - or two way radio. These are great because they will help you communicate with people in your group even when you can’t get cell phone service.

Because RVing is all about going on adventures, you may find yourself in areas where a two way radio is the only way to stay connected in case you get separated. Shop models by size, shape, and weight, especially if you intend to use a two way radio when backpacking.

The main thing is you need to invest in a decent set. Consider a model with an antenna length that is similar to the length of the unit’s body, like this. This will provide more power in a smaller unit.

Summer RV Trip Must-Have #2: Chairs

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again - a good set of folding camping chairs is one of the best investments you can make.

- You’ll be glad to have a nice set of chairs when you’re taking a lazy day around the RV just sitting around and enjoying each other’s company.

- After a long day of driving, it will be nice to get outside with a cold beverage and sink into your favorite camping chair.

- If you’ve been exploring the nearby area all day, you’ll be tired and ready to just sit around the RV and relax before bed.

Summer RV Trip Must-Have #3: A Portable Grill

Nothing can replace that unique flavor you get from grilling something. No matter what you’re cooking - steak, burgers, hot dogs, chicken, bell peppers, pineapple, asparagus, etc. - throwing food on the grill makes it taste great.

Yes, if your RV is parked close to a town or city you may eat some meals at restaurants. But, you probably don’t want to do that for every meal which is why the grill will come in handy.

The best part is you can get portable grills with a lot of cooking space! You can easily cook for the whole family at once.

Summer RV Trip Must-Have #4: An Instant Pot

Have you ever cooked with an Instant Pot? If not, you’re missing out. This thing has “Instant” in the name for a reason! It’s great for cooking all kinds of things very, very quickly like:

- Hard-boiled eggs

- Soups

- Rice

- Stew

- Roasted chicken

- Baked potatoes

- Beans

There’s so much you can do with this one gadget, it’s great. And since you don’t want to spend all of your RV adventure cooking, we recommend getting one so you can make healthy meals quickly and get back to the fun ASAP.
