Are you planning on an RV Valentine's Day with that special someone? Here are a few tips to help you make it a romantic day that your partner will love.

Make it All About Them

Our first recommendation is to make the day - especially the evening - all about your partner.

  • Take them to their favorite restaurant, or make them their favorite food

  • Buy them their favorite bottle of wine, or get the mixers for their favorite drink

  • Plan on going to a place you know they'd love

  • Wear something they'd like you to wear

The point is to make sure they clearly understand that it's all about them. Most days of the year open the door for you to discuss what you eat, where you go, and more. But for Valentine's Day, it's all about your partner!

Set the Scene for a Romantic Evening

Do what you can to make the setting romantic. For example, you can get some roses and put them around the RV. You can get some rose petals and put them on the bed. Turn the lights down a bit.

This even comes into play with the campground you pick. For example, if you go to an RV park on the beach, see what you can do to get a spot right on the beach with a great view of the water. If you're in the mountains, try to get a spot with a great view. You can also see if your campground has a "Lover's Lane," which tends to be a quieter spot than the rest of the camp.

Have "Me Time" Earlier in the Day

When you're living in an RV - whether for a short trip or living in one full-time - it's essential to schedule some alone time. Most people like the chance to get alone time every day so they can read, play video games, watch their favorite show, or take a nap. So even though Valentine's Day is supposed to be romantic, you don't have to be together for the whole day!

Have some alone time earlier in the day since you'll enjoy each others' company all evening.

Consider Trying Something New

This one can be tricky. On the one hand, trying new things may backfire if your partner doesn't enjoy it. The restaurant's food may be terrible, or the service isn't good. That bottle of wine you try just doesn't hit the spot. You could get several different types of flowers and bouquets to decorate the RV, only to find out the hard way that your partner's allergies don't agree with some of the flowers!

But new things don't always go poorly. Sometimes just the thrill and experience of doing something new is enough to make your partner appreciate the thought and effort you put into the evening.

Do Some Stargazing

If you're in a big city with a lot of light pollution, it may be tough to see a lot of stars. But after dinner, consider sitting outside with a blanket and stargazing with your partner. This may be something you already do most nights when RVing, but if not, this is an especially great night to start!

The real secret sauce to a great RV Valentine's Day boils down to making the day - and especially the evening - all about your special someone. Have a great time!
