Going out and exploring with an RV is a fun and exciting way to see nature and drive around on some scenic routes. RV’s are a popular way to travel because they give people a lot of flexibility to explore and can be very cost efficient if people are smart with their purchases.
It is important to note that there are different types of RV’s. The different classes might seem confusing to new motorists, but each class has its own set of features and is distinct from each other. Understanding the differences between each will make it a lot easier for you to actually buy a RV that best suits you need for the right price.
Class A
These are usually very large and boxy. The smaller Class A Rvs are about 24 feet long. Due to their big size, they have a lot of space and can make it easy for you to spread out and store your items. This makes it a lot easier to get work done inside an RV and actually live in the vehicle for longer periods of time.
Since these RV’s are raised, they make it easy for you to look outside and enjoy the beautiful nature and scenery, and are often safer when it comes to driving on the roads. Taller people often appreciate Class A RVs because the ceilings are high as well.
Due to their size, these RVs are the most expensive, but savvy consumers can save money by buying a cheaper and used one and then spending a bit of money on renovations.
Class B
These are the smallest and look like big vans than actual RVs. They have slightly raised roofs that give you a bit of room to live in and move around, but they are usually just a bit longer than a normal van and rest on the chassis that a van has. As a result, these RV’s come with fewer features and other amenities than Class A, but they can be used to tow boats and trailers since they come with a ball hitch.
These types of motorhomes are much easier to drive due to their small size and people can ride in the back while it is motion. This is a big advantage over having a trailer RV because many jurisdictions make it illegal to transport people in a trailer or towable RV. Class B RVs also have good gas mileage because of their small size, so they are a good choice for big travelers who like to drive around a lot.

Class C
These have many similarities to Class A ones, but Class C’s have an overhead bed spot above the driver’s cab.
These types of vehicles are designed for entertainment and might not come with a lot of storage or even a spot for a bed. However, most people with these types of motorhomes enjoy sleeping in the overhead bed and enjoy the small size of the vehicle, which expands travel options.
Unfortunately, these RV’s are less fuel efficient because they use big engines and are often very heavy. They are also hard to park inside of garages because they are very tall, but they are usually cheaper than Class A and B RVs.
