Some RVers enjoy the minimalist approach to travel, carrying only what they can fit in their modest recreational vehicle. Part of the reason why we love the RV lifestyle is to get away from “stuff,” right? Most of our homes are filled with a lot of things we frankly don’t need.
That said, some important accessories make the RV lifestyle a lot better. Here are a few of the best RV accessories.
Solar Panels
The solar power industry has come a long way. It’s much more affordable and convenient to install them than it used to be. Solar panels are a great resource for on-the-go electricity users. They can power your appliances and even extend the life of the batteries in your RV since you won’t be continually draining their power. Solar panel systems are cost-effective, environmentally friendly, and require little to no maintenance.
While you can opt for a complex, expensive system and have someone install it for you, there’s no reason to do so. We offer several types of solar panels you can easily install yourself. It may take a bit of time, but at the end of the day, you’ll have solar panels giving you the power you need to live off the grid for a while. Just a few hours of work for that tradeoff? Worth it.
Satellite TV Antenna
Have you ever been stuck in an RV on a dreary, rainy day?
At first, it’s kind of fun. You can pass the time by doing activities like reading books, working on a puzzle, playing board games, and talking to the people you’re with. But, by the late afternoon, you may get tired of those activities. These days, with all of the lockdowns and restrictions due to COVID, it can be hard to find a place in town to visit while you wait out the rain.
Enter the TV antenna. It can help your RV receive a better signal so you can watch local TV. You may not have the same kind of selection as Netflix, but when you’re in the middle of nowhere with no Wi-Fi available, any TV is better than nothing.
Portable Grill
Let’s say the weather is the complete opposite of what I just described. It’s a warm, sunny day where you get the chance to be outside all day. Maybe you’ve gone hiking in a nearby park or you’ve strolled through town, spending most of your time outside window shopping.
By the end of the day, you’ve worked up a big appetite. Instead of hanging out inside the RV while you cook, fire up the portable grill you brought! Nothing beats a tasty hamburger or hot dog at the end of a great day.
Portable Space Heater
The fall and winter are great times to hit the road and enjoy your RV lifestyle. Even though the cold weather can deter a lot of people, it doesn’t have to. The key is to prepare ahead of time.
One way you can prepare for RVing in cold weather is by taking a space heater with you. It helps make nights more bearable so you don’t have to get under every blanket you own just to stay warm.
Outdoor Chairs
Last but certainly not least, we have to mention outdoor chairs.
The RV life is all about enjoying the simple moments and spending time with loved ones. Nothing is better than sitting outside on a nice evening in comfy camping chairs with your friends and family.
There you have it – those are some of our favorite RV accessories! What are your RV lifestyle must-haves?
