Wondering where to take an RV road trip this fall? Here are a few specific suggestions you may want to consider adding to your wish list.

RV Road Trip #1: Panama City Beach, FL

Panama City Beach isn’t just a place for spring breakers. It has a lot to offer anyone who wants a trip to the beach:

-Great restaurants

-Beautiful beaches

-Beach shops to get all the decor, beach toys, etc. you could ever need and more.

In our opinion, the best time to go down to the Gulf Coast is in the fall. No, it’s not the time of year that people usually think of heading to the beach…which is part of what makes it so great.

The beach itself and restaurants are all less busy in the fall. Kids are in school so it’s generally harder for millions of people to go. The weather is cooler, so you can enjoy the beach without getting scorched by the end of the day. The water is still warm enough to swim, whereas if you wait until December it will be too cold.

As for where to stay, the Panama City RV Resort is a good option!

RV Travel Spot for Fall #2: Gatlinburg, TN

Moving a little further north, Gatlinburg, TN is a great place to visit in the fall. Situated in the Great Smoky Mountains, the fall is the perfect time to visit Gatlinburg since you get beautiful views of the leaves changing.

The best part about Gatlinburg is there’s a lot to do.

-Want to go hiking? No problem - you can do that.

-Love eating at cool restaurants? There’s a lot there.

-Like walking through neat parts of town and visiting shops? Gatlinburg has that.

-Want to visit a theme park? Go to Dollywood

A lot of times when you go to the mountains, the problem is there isn’t a lot to do. But Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge offer a lot so you can get a break from being in the great outdoors if you want it.

A great option for a place to stay is the Greenbrier Campground. Enjoy!

RV Vacations for the Fall #3: Steamboat Springs, CO

Most people already know that Colorado is a beautiful state. What many people don’t know is there are hidden gems in the mountains that are much less expensive than cities like Aspen but are still just as beautiful. One such town is called Steamboat Springs.

Steamboat is a great place to visit year-round. The winter makes it a great place to go skiing. In the summer, you can enjoy activities like hiking, horseback riding, or boating. But you can also do those types of things in the fall! You can enjoy the great outdoors during the day and go into town in the evening for a nice meal.

There are a few RV parks in the area, but the highest-rated one right now is Steamboat Springs KOA Holiday. If the mountains of Colorado are what you’re looking for this fall, check it out.

RV Fall Road Trip #4: San Diego, CA

We already talked about why going to the beach in the fall is a great time. That’s part of what makes San Diego a great place to visit in the fall months.

San Diego is a really neat city. It has long, beautiful, white-sand beaches, but since it is a big city you can also head downtown to enjoy city life. It’s the best of both worlds, and there isn’t another city like it!

If you live on the west side of the US and are itching for a beach trip think about heading down to Campland on the Bay. You won’t regret it.

RV Travel Trip #5: Catskill Mountains, NY

Natives of the northeast are no stranger to the Catskill Mountains. Situated in New York, these mountains are a great place to “get away from it all” to remind you of the finer things in life.

The fall is a great time to head up to the mountains to enjoy the leaves changing color. You have a few places to stay up here, but our main recommendation is Jellystone Park at Birchwood Acres. They’re only open until October 11th though, so if you want to take a trip later in the year you may need to check out another site, such as the Kenneth Wilson Campground.

No matter where you stay on your RV vacation - we hope you have a great trip!
