Need a few ideas on where to RV this winter? Here are a few suggestions to consider.

RV This Winter at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort

Disney World is a wonderful place. It has a lot to offer whether you’re 5, 35 or 75 years old. Why not combine this magical place with a stay in your home away from home - your RV?

While it’s called a resort, Fort Wilderness is essentially a campground. They have a variety of sites available. Right now their website lists these types:

-       Premium campsite

-       Preferred campsite

-       Full hook-up campsite

-       Tent/pop up campsite

-       Premium meadow campsite

Each has its pros and cons, but essentially it means there is something for everyone.

Not keen on the idea of going to Disney World right now because of coronavirus? That’s fair, but keep in mind they have been doing everything they can to keep the parks safe and sanitized for guests. And since a lot of the attractions are outside, you can probably find a few things to do.

Take Your RV This Winter to Napa Valley

Maybe you haven’t actually been to Napa Valley, but I bet you’ve heard of it. Napa wine country is a famous destination, even for folks who don’t drink tons of wine. You don’t need to be a wine connoisseur to enjoy the area.

Your two main options are Napa Valley Expo RV Park or Skyline RV Park. Both let you stay in a good area, giving you access to the local wineries.

Try the Desert in Your RV this Winter

The Southwestern United States has beautiful deserts that you can’t truly appreciate until you’ve seen them for yourself. Not every desert is the same, so it’s hard to recommend a particular one.

For example, Joshua Tree has beautiful landscapes and the name comes from the unique type of tree that grows in the area.

Joshua Tree looks very different compared to some of the deserts in Utah, which are more of a red color and have huge rocks, boulders and mountains.

Dry lake beds in California give a different feel than the Nevada desert around Las Vegas.

Need us to recommend a particular place to check out? You can’t go wrong with Joshua Tree!

Check out Maine for RVing in the Northeast

So far we’ve talked about going West, Southwest and Southeast. But what about heading North for the winter? One great spot to check out is Maine.

The beautiful landscape of Maine gives you a lot of great places to explore. Everything from the coastline to forests and mountains are beautiful, untouched country. You just can’t go wrong. Here are a few of the highest rated ones to consider:

-       Wild Acres RV Resort and Campground

-       Timberland Acres RV Park

-       Hid’n Pines Family Campground

We expect more people will opt for some of the warmer options we mentioned earlier, but everyone has different tastes for what they like to do!

Conclusion

The winter is a great time to pack up and spend time in the RV. Life is generally a bit slower, making it easier to get away for a while and relax.
