Traveling by RV is a great way to have a unique Labor Day.
Most people will crowd into cities like Las Vegas, but the adventurous head out
to the best nature RV parks in the US! If this sounds like you, we have three
destinations to peak your interest.
Zion River Resort in Utah
This is an incredible location. Not only does it have full hookups,
free WiFi, concrete parking pads, and grills for all guests, but it happens to
be next to one of America’s most iconic natural landscapes!
Zion National
Park is an unmistakable place of beauty. It remains a site that many people
connect with through rigorous hiking and reflecting on the ancient people that
called it home for over 10,000 years! Evidence of both the Anasazi and Fremont
cultures have been found through archeological efforts and items date back as far
as 7,000 BC!
Children can learn a lot from the information provided by
the park services, and they will have a ton of fun exploring on a hike. The
park has hundreds of plants and animals specific to the area that will impress
the adults and youngsters alike.
As far as RV camping goes, this is one of the best spots in the
nation for Labor Day or any time of the year. Many people even come here to
beat the cold winters back home, and with this kind of view, why not?
American Heritage RV Park in
Virginia
The American Heritage RV Park is located right next to Colonial Williamsburg. Colonial
Williamsburg is a slice of American culture before we were the nation we are
today.
You will be able to visit the grounds and explore yourself, or
you can take one of eleven different tours to better understand the history. We
are particularly partial to the Official
Colonial Williamsburg Ghost Walk. You’ll hear tales of creepy occurrences
from Colonial Williamsburg over the year, and you might even see a ghost
yourself!
What’s great about this park is that each area is pet-friendly,
has full hook ups, patios, and concrete pads. We love bringing the whole family
along for a trip, and you aren’t altogether without your animals.
Crater Lake National Park in
Oregon
Crater Lake
is an incredible destination that almost boggles the mind. The lake sets inside
a once active volcano, which erupted 7,700 years ago and has been dormant ever
since. The event was actually witnessed by the Native Americans that lived in
the area and evidence has been found that they recorded the event for their
future generations.
The water itself is fed by snow and rain water, and because
of that, it remains extremely clean and pure.
Although the camp itself is a little pricey compared to
others ($31 for most sites or $35 for an electric hookup site), it is well
worth the money! The view is incredible, and the amenities at the park make up
for it.
They have flush toilets, fire rings, showers, laundry, and
drinking water. The long and weary traveler will find solace here, and the
casual adventurer should take full advantage of this pristine RV park for this
coming Labor Day!
