While it's generally best to travel light when you're RVing, it's also a good idea to take gadgets and tools to make your life easier. Here are a few to consider picking up as you plan your 2023 RV adventures.
Disposable Sanitation Gloves
We know - not the most exciting. But sometimes, you have to do some dirty work around the RV. Do you want to get that stuff on your bare hands, knowing your skin absorbs anything it touches? Or would you rather have some gloves handy that you can wear while you do the job, then throw away once the job is done?
Easy answer, right?
Drinking Water Hose
Not all hoses are the same. You wouldn't want to use a hose meant for watering a garden as the hose for your drinking water. Even though kids don't tend to care, it's best that you actually use a drinking water hose for the water you plan on consuming yourself.
Surge Protector
Picture this: you're sitting in your RV, warm and cozy, while a thunderstorm rages outside. Enjoying a book and sipping your favorite evening beverage, you're perfectly content.
…until you lose power. You realize there must have been a surge, and the RV campground lost electricity.
But after a few minutes, the power comes back on. No harm, no foul. Your surge protector helped protect your RV and all of your electrical equipment from permanent damage, so you're glad you made that investment!
RV Leveling Kit
While it's not a big deal for your RV to be angled a little, you don't want it to be diagonal. A sloped RV is more challenging to walk in. You're more likely to fall off the bed or chairs, and food may fall off the counters.
Do yourself a favor and pick up an RV leveling kit. It will help you keep the RV more… well, level… so you can be more comfortable.
Chocks
Another RV must-have is chocks. You don't want your RV to roll away, right? It's incredible how something so small can hold something as big as your RV in place. But they do, so pick some up so you can sleep easier at night knowing your RV isn't going anywhere.
Toolbox including a Cordless Drill
As an RVer, you are also a DIYer. While you may be able to find friends or neighbors to help with small tasks or pay contractors to work on big tasks, most RVers choose to repair things themselves.
It's hard to do that if you don't have any tools laying around!
Cell Phone Signal Booster
When you're staying at a luxury RV Resort, cell phone coverage usually isn't an issue. But when you're in the mountains or the middle of nowhere without civilization close by, cell phones tend to struggle.
Do yourself a favor and pick up a cell phone signal booster. It's not guaranteed to give you great signal, but it will help a lot.
Air Compressor
Nothing's worse than being stuck in the middle of nowhere with a flat tire. Pick up a small air compressor so you can pump some much-needed air when you need it.
