People love RV vacations because of the adventure, freedom, and relaxation. The time you spend in an RV while on an adventure is usually meant to act as a break from your normal daily routine. This is the time where you’ll feel that you want to get away from all the hustle and grind of life and just enter ‘vacation-mode’ and enjoy your trip.
But this shouldn’t exempt you from keeping healthy and ensuring you maintain your health with regular exercises. This article tries to explain some tips which you can try out to keep yourself in tip-top shape even while in ‘vacation mode.’
1. Take planned driving breaks
As much as most of us might love taking drives across the country and sitting for long lengths of time while on the road, this may actually end up wreaking havoc on your body. This is the reason why you can set up specific periods where you can stop your RV after every couple hours and take a break from the steering wheel. Take a nap or head out and stretch your body for a few minutes before you decide to continue with your journey. Your body will need that.
2. Get out of your RV
Hunkering down in your RV’s compact space all the time also isn’t a healthy habit. You may love your RV so much as to never want to leave it or even step outside, but your body’s overall health will definitely call for it. Your body is designed to be active and always on the move. So, keeping it confined in a compact space won’t do it any good. Run a couple of laps or walk outside your RV to stretch and flex your muscles. You will feel much better afterward. That’s a guarantee.
3. Avoid gas station garbage
This seems to be the most pressing habit that faces most RV users. Buying bags of chips and sugary drinks every time you find a rest stop isn’t good with your health. For one, you never know what artificial ingredients have been added to these foods. You can plan ahead of the road trip and make your own healthy snacks, which can contribute towards providing your body with the right nutrients throughout your trip.
4. Stretch every day
You will also need to make it a habit to flex and stretch your body muscles every day. This will help with your range of motion and body posture as well. After sitting through a long day’s trip, a good long body stretch can help a great deal.
5. Don’t skip pillow time
You also need to ensure that you get enough sleep as this sets the foundation towards a healthy life. Don’t take sleep for granted. This is a common practice for many people, but it is vital that you get enough sleep, especially when on the road. You don’t want to be dozing off while driving, do you?
