Spring is officially here. Where are you taking your RV this spring? If you’re still figuring that out, here are a few suggestions to consider.
Spring RV Destination #1: The Smoky Mountains
The Smoky Mountains are beautiful. If you’re native to the Southeast, you may have driven through the Great Smoky Mountains or spent a bit of time there on vacation.
Whether you’re native to the area or live on the other side of the country, the Smokies are worth the trip. They get that “smoky” look because fog tends to easily accumulate in the area. While mountains are already beautiful, the fog is basically the “cherry on top” that makes this mountain range so scenic.
There are a few places to visit while you’re there, but you can’t go wrong with Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
RV Destination #2: Big Sky Country
Have you ever been out to Montana? They call it “Big Sky Country” because there aren't a lot of people or buildings out there.
It’s perfect for an RVer. There’s not a lot of car noise and you won’t have planes buzzing over your head.
There’s just silence. You, the beautiful sky, open space, and some plants and animals. It’s a great way to have a chill, relaxing trip where you can get away from technology and people for a while.
Spring RV Place to Go #3: Lake Powell
If you aren’t from the Utah/Arizona area, you might be thinking “what’s the big deal about a lake?”
Lake Powell is a manmade reservoir that has become a huge tourist destination. It has about 2,000 miles of coastline, so there’s essentially a ton of space for visitors to hang out and enjoy the water.
And since it’s in Arizona and Utah - two states not exactly known for their abundance of lakes - it’s something to consider checking out for a change of scenery.
RV Spot to Visit #4: Wine Country
When you think of a place with a lot of wine, does your mind go straight to Napa Valley?
While there is certainly a lot out there, you can find places all over the country that have clusters of wineries nearby. For example, the area around Dahlonega, GA - a small mountain town - has a dozen wineries nearby. So, even if you were to visit 3-4 wineries a day, it’d take you a few days to get through all of them.
Google is your best friend here. Do some searching to find nearby areas that have a lot of wineries where you can go do a wine tasting.
RV Spot to Visit #5: Your Favorite Spot
Going to a new place is always a great idea. You’re seeing and doing something new. You might meet some new people. You’ll make memories that you can look back on forever.
...but there’s something to be said about going back to someplace you’ve already visited. Maybe you found an amazing beachfront RV park. Or there’s a nice little mountain town you fell in love with.
We won’t blame you for visiting that spot again. This is your spring RV trip - do what makes you happy!
