One of the most enjoyable pastimes ever thought up by the mind of mankind has to be camping with a recreational vehicle. It doesn't matter whether you're taking the wife and kids up to the mountains for a vacation, or just getting a bunch of guys together and heading to the lake for a nice fishing weekend, using an RV for camping trips is the best of both worlds, literally. Getting back to nature and soaking up the great outdoors is great, but that doesn't mean that you have to build a lean-to out of foliage, and hunt your dinner with a spear that you carved out of a tree branch. By using an RV, you can still enjoy all of the beauty and raw glory of nature, but you can step inside and turn on the TV at night to catch a ball game. You can fish some exotic lake out in the middle of nowhere, but still sleep on a comfortable bed at night. This is the power of the RV, the ability to bring together the world you live in, and the world you love to get away to.

The key to effectively using an RV for camping purposes is to foresee all of the things you'll be doing, and planning your RV accessories and supplies to fit those activities perfectly. If it's you and the guys on a fishing weekend, that probably means a quality fish finder, and probably a lot of extra beer for the fridge. If it's the family for a mountain getaway, then you bring all of the tools to keep everyone entertained, comfortable and happy as possible. The worst thing in the world is getting hundreds of miles away from civilization and then suddenly realize that you forgot to bring something important. It's always better to be well-equipped on a camping trip, and that means getting the right gear. Make a list, taking into consideration each person's individual needs, and then prioritize for importance when you go shopping.

One camping accessory that should be kept in every RV kitchen is the classic campfire sandwich cooker. Oh sure, it may be called a "sandwich" cooker, but it's really an all-purpose cooker. The sandwich cooker comes in several different shapes and styles, and with it's long handle - always at least 24" for safety - and insulated grip, you can create hot and delicious toasted lunches and dinners in minutes. They are easy to clean up afterwards, and with the closeable lid, you can flip sandwiches and other food for even cooking. Everyone loves sandwiches, and if they say they don't, they're fibbing to you. Eating the fish you caught is great, but not for every meal, because that would get old in a hurry.

RV sandwich cookers provide easy solutions for creative cooking in a place where you usually don't have that many options. And, since you know you'll have that cooker to work with, you can tailor the food list you're bringing to include lots of different dishes. Variety is the spice of life, and when you've got an RV, friends, family and a sandwich cooker, there's plenty of variety to go around.
