Sometimes in life, the journey is more important than the destination. So if you’re going on a road trip this spring or summer, you may as well make it a scenic one! Here are a few RV road trip ideas that will help to make your Insta pop this year. BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY This popular driving route traverses through close to five hundred miles of mountainous Appalachia. During summer, travelers can experience some heavy traffic in certain areas. Still, the incredible scenery is more than worth the wait. ROUTE 66 Route 66 is the consummate American road trip. So many movies, novels, and music numbers feature this famous stretch of highway. It certainly does stretch all the way from Southern California to Illinois! HISTORIC NEW ENGLAND For a diverse experience that includes natural wonders and historical sites, take your RV on a tour of New England. It has a lot to offer RVers looking for a change of pace. NEW ORLEANS AND THE GULF COAST Over the last five years, New Orleans has experienced an incredible revival. The route through the Gulf Coast region isn't one of the more common RV routes, but it makes for an excellent road trip in your rental RV. In addition, prices have become manageable because the tourism business has been experiencing a slowdown in recent years. YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK AND THE ROCKIES Yellowstone National Park is one of the world's most visited RVing destinations and is worth a trip to Montana. It's probably the most intriguing camping you'll ever experience. Take advantage of the many scenic routes as you make your way to Yellowstone. In addition, do your best to plan a scenic route that passes through other points of interest in the Rocky Mountain region, such as Rocky Mountain National Park and Grand Teton National Park. THE GREAT LAKES REGION For a spectacular midwest adventure and using Chicago as a base, make a circuitous route along the American side of the Great Lakes, through the Upper Michigan peninsula. If you plan a trip like this, take along any water sports equipment you may have, like surfboards or paddleboards, as there are great beaches on this route. SOUTHWEST DESERT The American Southwest is still a landscape worth exploring in your Cruise America rental RV. However, the region contains famous parks like the Grand Canyon National Park and Zion National Park. There are also some tremendous urban areas of the Southwest, such as Santa Fe, New Mexico, known for its pueblo-style Native American architecture and beautiful art collection. SOUTHEASTERN SEABOARD Traveling along the United States's Southeastern coast is unlike a New England RV trip, as the jaw-dropping landscapes and bustling urban areas create memories that will last a lifetime. As you travel, stay along the coastline, from Virginia down through the Carolinas, then to Savannah with its southern charm, history, and culture. Whichever road trip you decide to take, make sure you stock up on your RV supplies before hitting the road! You don’t want to get in the middle of nowhere and realize you’re missing something critical. Lastly, don’t forget to have fun!
